- We use multiple Flat Accounts for different things. Does Flatmin support this?
Do we need to have a Flat Account?
Absolutely not! In fact, Flatmin makes it tons easier to not use a Flat Account than what it used to be.
If Cameron pays the Internet bill with his own money, he can just add a Bill that says everyone else has to pay him back. If Sarah pays the Power bill, Flatmin is smart enough to balance out what she owed Cam for her share of the Internet. Awesome, huh!
How can I get my old transactions into Flatmin?
We're working on a bank import feature, so hold tight. We're also working on allowing you to set where your Flat Account was at when you started using Flatmin, so that the balances work out properly.
In the meantime, if you really want Flatmin to match your bank statement exactly, you can go through and manually add each past transaction. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter if Flatmin is slightly wrong, as you still get all the other benefits!
Why can't Flatmin automatically pull our Flat Account transactions from our bank?
We're working with banks to support automatic bank-feeds. We're also working on allowing you to upload bank statements, which Flatmin will process automatically. So... hang tight!
We rent out our flat's car-park. How do I log this in Flatmin?
We're working on allowing you to add "flat income". In the meantime, if you want to keep everyone's balance accurate, you can log a "payment in" by each flatmate for their share of the income.
